“Fringe” is a show coming to FOX in the fall that is being talked about as the “spiritual successor” of “X-Files”. It’s being put together by JJ Abrams (who also developed “Alias” and “Lost”).

The shows details the investigations of an FBI agent and an eccentric scientific researcher and his son, a brilliant but bored jack of all trades type. It is basically blurring the lines between science and pseudo-science (telepathy, teleportation, and other ideas on the fringes of scientific research, hence the name). Taking a scientific approach to those ideas, but from the standpoint that they are really happening…building on real science to set the stage for the more fictional elements of the pseudo-science.
